The iPad is Apple's "most advanced technology in a magical & revolutionary device at an unbelievable price". iPad pricing starts at $499.
The iPad is a half an inch thin and weighs just 1.5 pounds. It has a long battery life of 10 hours while in use--1 month on standby. The iPad will also come equipped with a full size mechanical keyboard dock; the keyboard will be available as an added accessory. The iPad can run all iPhone and iPod Apps unmodified right out of the box. The iPad will offer ebooks in the standard ePub format.
The New York Times will create a customized application for the iPad just like they did for the iPhone--The New York Times iPhone app has already been downloaded 3 million times! iPad users will be able to resize text with a pinch, set reading preferences, and view embedded movies inside an article. NYT says this is just the beginning!
Interview Magazine has also unveiled iPad capabilities. The iPad version of Interview magazine seen below seeks to reinvent the digital magazine reading experience: photography and text merged with audio and video interviews will offer readers an innovative way to enjoy digital magazines.
