This season, your friends and family will be thrilled with the gift of a new e-reader!

Today's digital e-reader options provide a fantastic experience for reading books. Even though some magazines are available, most pictures are stripped out (along with the ads!) and the display is gray, just like a book.

Most popular for this holiday gift giving remains the Kindle. Expect to see prices drop even more. The Barnes & Noble Nook is another great choice. Expected to deliver on December 18 in time for Christmas. The Sony Reader is also a solid device that lets you read in formats like ePub and PDF so you can read over one million free public domain titles from Google books.

Of course the iPhone and iTouch remain strong contenders and when the much anticipated iTablet arrives, it will make the dream of reading magazines on a digital device a reality. Maybe next season?
